Covid 19 engaging with your faith

Well.. this is kind of a weird time to start a blog in the middle of COVID19, but here we are. Every time we open the news we hear something new, some new disaster, another soul has lost their life or we are debating whether we should wear masks or not. If your like me you might be wondering where is God in all of this? Has he abandoned us, did we do something wrong? Is this the end times? There are a lot of stories and theories out there and as believers it's beginning to look like a minefield. But you know Beloveds, I don't have the answers. Like you I'm scratching my head to figure out what is going on, on a daily basis minute by minute. All any of us can do in the midst of this ongoing crisis across the world is remember that God found us, he loves us. He loved us so much he sent his Son to die on the cross for us. Yes.. no Easter bunnies or chocolate eggs. Just the redeeming blood and love of Christ. The ultimate sacrifice for you and me. With that in mind I can face another day in this horrible crisis that has inflicted our world. Other countries are slowly turning the corner in this crisis and we as believers need to be patient and take our courage and inspiration from the scripture.

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

New International version.

Please check out the rest of this totally amazing psalm. There are some other really cool psalms. For example Psalm 121.

Beloveds, lets join together in prayer that God will deliver us and keep our eyes, hearts and minds firmly centered on his great love for us.

Peace grace and blessings to you all

The Son is coming out. This image was illustrated by me some years ago which is part of a book I wrote called Finding God in a storm. It depicts dawn rising over a village. The sun represents Christ.
